01
IP Lockdown — Claim the word before anyone else
Pending

This is the only task that cannot wait. Domains, handles, and community names cost almost nothing and take a few hours. Lose them now and you may never get them back.

Domains to register now
gromad.com — the prize. Check and buy immediately.
gromad.co — backup and brand protection
gromad.com.au — Australian market
gromad.co.nz — New Zealand market
gromad.life — lifestyle positioning, strong second domain
Social handles to claim
@gromad on Instagram
@gromad on TikTok
@gromad on X (Twitter)
Gromad on YouTube (channel name + handle)
Gromad page on Facebook
Gromad on Pinterest
r/Gromad subreddit — claim and set to private until ready
1
How to check if gromad.com is available

Go to namecheap.com or godaddy.com and search "gromad". Check .com first. If taken, search for the owner via WHOIS and consider an outreach offer — new coined words sometimes sit on parked domains.

If .com is gone: prioritise .com.au for an AU launch, use gromad.life as the primary international domain, and set a domain backorder on .com via DropCatch or GoDaddy backorder.

2
Claiming all handles in under 60 minutes

Use namecheckr.com to check all platforms at once. Create a burner Gmail (gromad.brand@gmail.com) for all registrations — keeps the main inbox clean and protects accounts if a platform gets compromised.

For each platform: create account, upload a placeholder logo (the GR amber wordmark on black), write the tagline in the bio: "Go further. Stay longer. Owe nobody. — gromad.com". Even if the page stays dark for months, the handle is yours.

Do this first. Every other section in this playbook assumes you own the name. If someone registers gromad.com or @gromad while you're reading section 3, the entire brand strategy has to change. This step takes 90 minutes and costs under $100 total.

02
Brand Identity — Lock the look, the word, the feeling
Pending

Gromad is a coined word. That means you're not just building a brand — you're building a definition. What the word means, looks like, and sounds like is entirely yours to set.

The locked brand system
Logo: GR in amber (#c9891f), OMAD in off-white (#f2ede4), Bebas Neue, 5px tracking
Tagline: "Go further. Stay longer. Owe nobody." — used everywhere, never changed
Definition drafted: "A person who chose movement over mortgage." — lock this
Colour palette saved: ink #0a0c0b, amber #c9891f, off-white #f2ede4, mid #68796f
Font pairing saved: Bebas Neue (headlines), DM Serif Display italic (editorial), Manrope (body)
Export logo in SVG, PNG (dark bg), PNG (light bg), PNG (favicon 32px), PNG (favicon 16px)
Voice rules — what Gromad sounds like
Direct. No fluff. "You" language, not "we believe" language.
Bold, not loud. Confident, not aggressive. Aspirational, not aspirational-in-a-luxury-car-ad way.
Never age or demographic specific. "Movement over mortgage" not "grey nomad retirement".
No em dashes. No overly corporate language. No AI-generic filler phrases.
Sanity checkpoint
Before moving on: open the homepage HTML, search for any instance of "grey" or "senior" or "retiree". If you find any, remove it. The brand is ambiguous by design. One demographic word costs you 60% of the potential market.

03
Home Base — Get gromad.com live
Pending

The homepage is the hub everything links back to. It doesn't need to be perfect — it needs to be live, branded, and collecting emails from day one.

Deployment checklist
Upload gromad-homepage.html to your hosting (GitHub Pages, Netlify, or Squarespace custom page)
Connect domain — point gromad.com DNS to your host
Add SSL certificate (automatic on Netlify/GitHub Pages, manual on shared hosting)
Wire email form to Web3Forms — replace action="#" with Web3Forms endpoint and add your access key
Test form submission — check that data arrives in Gmail
Replace all href="#" links with real destinations (FB group, Reddit, Stripe, product pages)
Add META Pixel to <head> for retargeting from day one
Add Google Analytics 4 property and tracking snippet
Test on mobile — check nav toggle, stat row stacking, product card layout
1
Fastest free hosting: GitHub Pages in 10 minutes

Create a GitHub account and new repository named gromad. Upload gromad-homepage.html and rename it to index.html. Go to Settings → Pages → Source: Deploy from branch → main. Your site will be live at yourusername.github.io/gromad within 2 minutes.

To connect your custom domain: add a CNAME file to the repo containing just gromad.com, then add a CNAME DNS record at your registrar pointing to yourusername.github.io. SSL is automatic.

2
Wiring Web3Forms in 5 minutes

Go to web3forms.com, sign up with your Gmail, and get your access key. In the homepage HTML, find the email form and add: <input type="hidden" name="access_key" value="YOUR_KEY">. Change the form action to https://api.web3forms.com/submit. Done. Every submission hits your Gmail inbox instantly, free forever.

Stats placeholder note: The homepage hero currently shows placeholder stats (90 days, $97, AU NZ US, $0). These are product-led numbers and safe to keep. Once you have real community members, swap to real figures. Never fake a member count.

04
Community Hubs — Build the rooms before the people arrive
Pending

The community is the brand. A Facebook group with real rules, real moderation, and real people trusting each other is worth more than any ad campaign. Build the room right before anyone walks in.

Facebook group setup
Create group: "Gromad — Freedom Over Fixed Costs" — Private, visible
Group description: Use the definition word-for-word. "A Gromad is a person who chose movement over mortgage..."
Cover image: GR/OMAD logo on dark ink background with tagline
Membership questions: (1) Where are you based? (2) Are you already living the Gromad life or planning to? (3) How did you find us?
Pinned welcome post written and pinned
Group rules posted: no scams, no spam, no dodgy vehicle listings, introduce yourself first
Create separate "Gromad Market" group for buy/sell only — link from main group
Reddit + forum setup
r/Gromad created — set sidebar with definition, rules, and link to gromad.com
First 3 posts seeded (route question, gear question, intro post) so it doesn't look empty
Discord server created as long-term forum alternative (optional but future-proof)
Sanity checkpoint
If someone joins your FB group today, what do they see? An active, moderated space with a clear purpose — or an empty room? Seed at least 5 posts yourself (using your personal account or a few test accounts) before you invite anyone. Empty communities kill momentum instantly.

First Product — The Gromad Setup Guide at $97
Pending

The Setup Guide is the most important product because it meets the highest-anxiety moment in the customer journey. Someone who just decided to make the move needs exactly this. Build it first, sell it first.

Product build checklist
Use the PlainBlack playbook format: sidebar nav, localStorage persistence, AI update buttons
Apply Gromad design system: GR amber logo, ink dark, amber accent, Bebas Neue + DM Serif + Manrope
10 sections covering: decision framework, vehicle selection, legal setup, rego by country, mail/banking, insurance, connectivity, budget, first route, community integration
Stripe checkout link created at $97 USD one-off
Product landing page built and hosted at gromad.com/setup-guide
Delivery flow tested: form → payment → playbook link emailed within 60 seconds
The 10 sections inside the Setup Guide
1
Section outline: what goes in each section
  • 1. The decision framework — financial break-even calc, readiness checklist, 30-day pre-departure timeline
  • 2. Vehicle selection — motorhome vs camper vs van, budget tiers ($20k / $50k / $100k+), AU/NZ/US market differences
  • 3. Legal setup — business structure options, domicile address services, mail forwarding
  • 4. Registration and compliance — rego by country, roadworthy requirements, weight limits
  • 5. Banking and finance — accounts that work nomad-style, travel cards, tax residency basics
  • 6. Insurance — vehicle insurance for nomads, health cover options by country
  • 7. Connectivity — SIM stacking, starlink setup, data plans by country
  • 8. Budget and living costs — real monthly breakdowns AU / NZ / US, fuel strategies, free camp finding
  • 9. Your first route — 30-day starter route by country, apps, camp finders
  • 10. Joining the Gromad community — how to use the group, the market, resources directory
Pricing note: $97 USD is the right entry price globally. It's psychologically easy to justify relative to one night of accommodation the trip would have cost. Never discount below $77. Never offer free trials of paid guides.

Podcast Launch — The Gromad Podcast on YouTube first
Pending

The podcast is the brand builder. It's searchable, long-form, and every episode is a permanent asset that compounds over time. YouTube first because it's the world's second-largest search engine and embeds everywhere.

Tech setup — minimum viable podcast
Zoom account (free tier records at 1080p — sufficient for launch)
USB condenser mic — Blue Yeti or Rode NT-USB Mini ($100-150 AU)
YouTube channel created, branded with GR/OMAD logo and banner
Channel description: tagline + gromad.com link + community links
Podcast RSS feed created via Spotify for Podcasters (free) for auto-distribution
Episode thumbnail template created in Canva — GR/OMAD logo, amber background strip, guest name
First 5 episode ideas — record these before launch
EP1: "What is a Gromad?" — your story, the definition, who this is for
EP2: "We sold the house. Here's what happened." — guest: first-year Gromad
EP3: "The real cost of living on the road" — budget breakdown episode
EP4: "Rig buying mistakes everyone makes" — gear and vehicle episode
EP5: "Year 3 on the road — would you do it again?" — long-term Gromad guest
1
Recording a guest interview via Zoom — step by step

In Zoom: Settings → Recording → Enable local recording. Start a meeting with your guest. Hit Record → Record on this computer. Both video tracks record separately. After the call, Zoom exports MP4 files to your Documents/Zoom folder.

Edit in CapCut (free) or DaVinci Resolve (free). Add an intro card with the GR/OMAD amber logo, cut silences, add your episode title as a lower-third. Export at 1080p. Upload to YouTube as unlisted first, check the cut, then publish.

07
Paid Acquisition — META ads to drive product sales
Pending

META is the right channel to start. The audience is on Facebook and Instagram, they are decision-makers, and the targeting lets you reach people by lifestyle signals and life events. Start at $30/day and don't touch it for 72 hours.

Campaign setup checklist
META Business Manager created and Pixel installed on gromad.com homepage
Pixel event tested: PageView fires on homepage load, Lead fires on form submission
Campaign objective: Sales (not Traffic — you want buyers, not clickers)
Audience: AU + NZ + US, ages 35-65, interests: caravanning, motorhomes, financial independence, early retirement, van life
Budget: $30/day USD. Do not increase for 7 days minimum.
3 ad variations created: 1 video (talking head or rig footage), 1 static (bold headline + tagline), 1 carousel (3 guide benefits)
Ad copy — proven angles to test
1
3 ad copy variants ready to paste

Angle 1 — The math: "Your mortgage costs $2,800/month. Full-time Gromad life costs $1,400. Same life. Half the price. Different address every week. The Gromad Setup Guide shows you exactly how to make the switch in 90 days. $97. No agency. No ongoing fees."

Angle 2 — The fear removal: "Everyone who's done it said the same thing: the fear was worse than the reality. The Gromad Setup Guide eliminates the stuff people get wrong — vehicle choice, legal setup, rego, insurance, connectivity. $97. Everything in order."

Angle 3 — The identity: "You've been talking about it for three years. The rig. The road. The life. At some point talking about it stops and doing it starts. The Gromad Setup Guide is for when you're ready to start."

Common mistake: Increasing budget before the Pixel has enough data. META needs 50 purchase events per ad set before its algorithm optimises properly. At $30/day this takes roughly 2 weeks. Increasing budget before this point resets the learning phase and wastes spend.

Gromad Market — The trusted buy/sell community
Pending

Gromad Market is the most defensible long-term asset. Trust, moderation, and verification is the moat. Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree can't compete with a community that knows and trusts each other.

Market setup checklist
FB Group "Gromad Market" created — separate from main community group
Listing rules posted: must include price, location, photos, contact method — no price on request
Post templates created for: Rig for sale, Gear/equipment, Free stuff, Wanted
Scam warning pinned: never pay without inspecting, never wire transfer to strangers
Vehicle rego check links added for AU, NZ, and US by state
Future: paid directory tier
Plan: "Find a park/community near you" directory — charged to park operators for listing
Plan: "Gromad-approved" badge for businesses that serve the community well (mechanic, solar installer, etc.)
Plan: Affiliate partnership with major caravan/RV insurance providers

09
Revenue Scaling — Stacking income streams
Pending

The playbook library and the community together create compounding revenue. Each new guide is a new ad angle, a new SEO page, and a new reason to come back. The goal is 5 guides at $97 each doing $1,000+/day combined.

Product library build order
Guide 1: The Gromad Setup Guide — 90 days house to rig ($97) ← build first
Guide 2: The Budget Blueprint — what it actually costs ($97)
Guide 3: The Route Planner — AU, NZ, US routes with real spots ($97)
Guide 4: The Legal Handbook — rego, domicile, tax, insurance by country ($97)
Guide 5: The Rig Conversion Guide — van/caravan fit-out without the expensive mistakes ($97)
Affiliate stack — build alongside guides
Starlink affiliate program — high commission, high relevance
RV/caravan insurance affiliate (Budget Direct AU, Turners NZ, Progressive US)
Camping apps: WikiCamps AU, Campermate NZ, Campendium US — affiliate or referral
Fuel cards and travel banking: Wise, Up Bank, Revolut
Solar and power gear: affiliate links inside the Rig Conversion Guide
Revenue targets — 90-day milestones
1
The math: what each milestone looks like

Month 1 target: 3 guide sales/day × $97 = $291/day = ~$8,700/month. At $30/day ad spend that's a 9.7x ROAS. Achievable once Pixel has data and ad creative is dialled.

Month 2 target: 2 guides live, affiliate links embedded, podcast driving organic traffic. Target 5 sales/day combined = $485/day = $14,500/month.

Month 3 target: Community at 1,000+ members, 3 guides live, podcast at 8+ episodes, organic search starting to convert. Target $20,000/month from combined sources. This is global domination territory for a solo operator with zero staff.

10
Global Domination — Own the category, not just the brand
Pending

The end goal is not a website with some guides. It's a coined word that belongs to a lifestyle — the way "van life" belongs to a generation. When someone asks "are you a Gromad?" and the other person knows what that means without explanation, you've won.

Category ownership strategy
Apply to trademark "Gromad" as a word mark in AU, NZ, and US — do this within 12 months
Wikipedia page — once the brand has real presence, draft and submit a "Gromad" page defining the term
Urban Dictionary entry — submit the definition early, own the search result
Press coverage strategy — pitch the "new word for freedom lifestyle" angle to AU/NZ travel media
Merch: stickers, decals, tees — when Gromads put your logo on their rig, you've got free rolling billboards
Long-term expansion plays
Gromad Annual Meetup — one event per country per year builds community identity that no online competitor can replicate
Gromad-approved park network — partner with caravan parks who want the Gromad audience, charge for the badge
White-label guide licensing — allow other creators to sell Gromad-branded guides in exchange for a revenue share
B2B: caravan dealerships, insurance brokers, solar installers wanting to reach the Gromad audience — sponsored content and directory
The real test of global domination
Search "Gromad" on Google. When the first page is entirely Gromad-owned assets — gromad.com, the YouTube channel, the Reddit, the Facebook group, the Urban Dictionary entry, a news article — you own the word. That's the finish line for this phase.
This is not a 90-day finish line. It's a 90-day launch. The brand compounding effect — community growth, search authority, word-of-mouth, podcast library — takes 12-18 months to fully mature. The 90-day playbook gets all the infrastructure live. The next year is execution and patience.
